Welcome to unity Theatre Liverpool. 2010 is an extra special year for us as we are celebrating 30 years in our Hope Street Home. During the spring season, join us as we take a look back over our shoulder, by reviving the once popular 'foyer monologues', which gave a number of Liverpool writers, actors and directors an early opportunity to show off their talents.
We are sorry to announce that Esther Wilson has postponed her monologue on 13th and 14th March. Replacing Esther, we welcome back Matt Rutter performing 'Kurt Hank, River & Sid'.
Catch Matt and those who didn't make 30 on Friday evening only. Join us from 9.45pm in unity3!
Five writers have been asked to respond to the idea of Turning Thirty. Esther Wilson, Robert Farquhar, Jeff Young and Patrick Dineen are amongst those who have agreed to contribute. A loose interpretation of the theme is being encouraged – so expect everything from the monologue (which is in fact a duologue!) to a fifteen-minute piece of musical theatre.
All of the writers and artists involved with the project have been associated with unity in the early stages of their careers. The theatre takes pride in its record of the number of people it has supported over the years.
Continuing the encouragement of emergent artists and companies is a central feature of unity’s 30th birthday year in June. All Monologues will take place in the unitytheatre bar, approximately 10pm (post show). Tickets are not necessary but space is limited. For more information contact unitytheatre on
