Tuesday 16 & Wednesday 17 March
Platform4 present a visually stunning, dreamlike performance of The Tempest, one of Shakespeare’s most enduring plays. This is a beautiful stripped down interpretation of the play that cuts to the heart of the work - with 3 actors, exquisite images and multi-layered sound-scapes. It is, at the same time, a meditation on the nature of theatre and performance.
Platform 4 has developed a reputation for creating stunning visual theatre; blending text, movement and objects with evocative sound and light, to create unique theatrical gems.

“I thought that was one of the best Shakespeare productions I’ve ever seen – Superb! Very pleased my 10 and 12 year olds came to see this as their first experience of Shakespeare
This is Shakespeare pared right down, but what is left is startling and beautiful". Theatre Wales 2009
There are ideas aplenty here; there are intelligence, rigour and elegant answers to the questions that Shakespeare's late play throws up...overall it's a very stimulating experience in the theatre. Reviewsgate 2009
“Platform 4 create images of exceptional beauty.” Total Theatre
If you must be shipwrecked, the tide can sweep you to fewer more beguiling landfalls than Platform 4's magical shore. Porstmouth News 2009.
