This spring we've got some amazing shows (that will make brilliant Christmas presents...) to tempt your theatrical tastebuds and help you experience the best in UK theatre.

Suzanne Bell, one time literary manager of Liverpool’s Everyman & Playhouse, casually pointed out to an eager bunch of playwrights that her department received about two plays a month about The Beatles. The remark festered in the heart of Jamie Gaskin who wondered what happened to all that effort. Could it be harnessed?

You learn loads working in theatre, but what are the top 8 things we know to be true from our experience at Unity?

On Tuesday 20th October we will be hosting our next scratch night. Scratch nights are a vital part of how we develop new work by giving work in its infancy opportunity to be put in front of an audience for the first time. Past participants have included community groups, dance companies, internationally acclaimed playwrights and new writers, all taking a risk and putting work in front of a supportive and generous audience. The event includes a feedback and Q&A session with the audience and post-show discussion in the bar to gather as much feedback from the audience as possible.
The top six things for all the family this autumn at Unity Theatre - from workshops to comedy clowning with poetry along the way!
Working at Unity I'm always asked about the shows I'm really excited about over the next few months. Naturally I always talk about Unity's shows, and this autumn is no different with a heavy bias towards our work (not least because it all looks incredibly exciting!), but I've included a few other shows I want to see away from home turf too! Enjoy, and if you have any recommendations then let us know!
John Robin first performed at Unity in 2012 previewing alongside Perrier award-winner Wil Hodgson, then in 2013 he returned on a double bill with Fosters comedy award-winner James Acaster. We saw his show in Edinburgh in 2014 which was his best yet (we thought), funny, tender and deservedly gaining some amazing reviews! He has been seen on '8 Out Of 10 Cats Christmas Mash-Up' (Channel 4), 'Russell Howard's Good News' (BBC3), 'Arthur Smith's Comedy Club' (ITV), 'Sarah Millican's 'Celebrity Deal Or No Deal' (Channel 4), 'Live At The Comedy Store' (Comedy Central) and 'Alan Davies As Yet Untitled' (Dave). Don't miss him as he returns to us, previewing his latest show at Unity on Thursday 30 July at 9pm! Click here to book.
