Subsidised hire charges 2007 for local theatre and community users

*These rates are available to local theatre companies/arts & voluntary sector organisations only and are made possible through the number and variety of events unity promotes annually, fund raising and our annual grants from NWAB and LCC.

unity has two performance spaces for hire Tuesday to Saturday

• 150 seats are for sale for each performance in unityone (Downstairs)

• 88 seats are for sale for each performance in unity two (Upstairs)

Hire fees, based on one performance of the same production each day between Tuesday and Saturday: [Effective from 01 April 2008]

• unity One – 245.00 plus VAT (equivalent of 51 people paying average price)*

• unity Two – 195.00 plus VAT (equivalent to 41 people paying average price)*

• Get-in/Technical Day – 140.00 plus VAT (including technician from 10.00am – 6.00pm)

• Please Note that if you book a technical day then at least three-quarters of the day will be taken up with rigging and focusing lights and erecting the set. If you have organized yourself well you should gain time on the following first performance day by being able to rehearse from 10.00am.

• Workshops - 80.00 plus VAT (10.30am – 5.30pm)

PRICING: All hirers are required to consult either the artistic Director or Marketing Manager over any admission charges
Please note that a non-refundable 10% deposit is required on issue of contract.

For these fees you get:

• Use of the theatre from 10.00am to the end of show on your first day of performances.

• Access to the theatre 2 hours before subsequent performances

• A member of unity’s technical team will be present from 10.00am until the end of your designated get-in day and will be in attendance on subsequent days one hour prior to the show.  We will supervise your get-in and offer advice and assistance with your lighting and sound requirements.

• Entry into the season brochure ** (print run between 10 – 15,000 depending upon time of year; distribution Mersey wide through TEAM).

• Inclusion on unity Web-site: www.unitytheatreliverpool.co.uk

• Details of your performance automatically sent to all free-listing publications (we do not have final control over what is actually selected for inclusion) also available – Direct distribution through unity’s mailing list. For charges contact unity’s Marketing Manager

• Foyer displays of posters, pre-show photographs etc.

• In-house distribution of your leaflets after shows***

• Discounted poster and leaflet distribution through TEAM in Liverpool City centre.

• Fully staffed Front-of-House including senior staff member, box office, bar, fire officer, (based on one performance per day within the hours of the theatre’s licence 10.00am – 11.00pm)

• ticketoffice reconciliation and statements.

*We recommend £6.00/£5.00 (concessions) as admission prices for local and community users (average priced based on 50/50 full prices/concessions = £5.50)

**Please note that unity is not contractually obliged to produce a season brochure.  unity is not responsible for the promotion of events booked after the deadline for the season brochure.

***Quantities must be negotiated in advance with unity’s Marketing Manager, no bigger than A3 and must arrive at the theatre at least one month in advance of your performance

Additional Dressing Rooms – £15.00 + VAT per day (two dressing rooms and access to shower are included in the normal hire Charge)

For Youth & Community groups with large casts (which must not exceed 50 in total) unitytwo will be automatically added to the hire for dressing space at a daily cost of  - £35.00 + VAT

Extra Charges

• Set/prop storage per day after final performance  - £45.00 + VAT

• Additional technical support- per hour/per person* – £12.35 + VAT (minimum call of two hours)

• Additional Front of House – per hour/per person* – £12.35 + VAT (minimum call of two hours)

• Additional casual support per hour/per person* – £7.20 + VAT (minimum call of two hours)

• Buffets /Receptions – we are glad to organise these on your behalf.  A 10% handling charge will be levied to cover additional overheads.  Corkage is charged should you bring in your own beers, wines, spirits or beverages.

• Hire of video projector – £20.00 + VAT per day

*Charged @ double-time after midnight and Sundays + taxi fare if applicable.

Programming Seasons

• Autumn Season - Mid September to Mid January, including annual Christmas production. Theatre closed between Christmas and New Year*

• Spring Season - Mid January to Easter*

• Summer Season - Post Easter to July

• August to Mid September – Theatre Closed

*During these seasons unity promotes its own in-house work and projects, and the bulk of its professional touring program along with a selection of the more established local groups and companies.
