Second Floor Auditorium - unitytwo
Stage
unitytwo is an adaptable space with a retractable seating unit. When the seating is out and curtains are in position, the performance space is approx. 10m (33') wide by 4.5m (14'09") deep. The height of the lighting grid is 4.35m (14'04").
The floor surface is black vinyl. No screwing or fixing into the floor is possible.
Curtain tracks run across the back and down the sides of the performance space. Other masking is available. Black curtains can be moved to the back wall to give another 1.0m of stage depth, but you lose backstage crossover and some ductwork becomes exposed.
A white cyclorama is available, which hangs from a bar just U/S of the black tabs.
Access to unitytwo for set / props etc is either via the public lift (maximum dimensions of lift 0.78m (2'6")wide x 1.95m (6'5")high x 1.30m (4'3")deep) or up the stairs.
There are some awkward corners to negotiate, so we recommend that you pay us a visit first if your set is large.
Lighting Grid
Suspended grid over whole area contains 56 x 15A circuits wired back to a patchbay in the control room. 12 dip circuits (6 SR, 6 SL) are also wired back to the patch bay.
4 x Independent non-dimming circuits (2 at grid height, 2 at floor level) switchable from the control room.
Power, Dimming and Control
63A, Three phase supply to dimmers, supplying 36 x 2k Zero 88 Beta Pack dimmers. Please note that each rack is fused at 32A.

Normal Technical Staffing
You will be assigned one technician for your get-in day and any subsequent performances. They will oversee your visit to the theatre, operate lighting and/or sound for you as necessary, act as stage manager, or be on call during the performance to help with any difficulties. They will also supervise your get-out.
If you require any additional staffing to help fit-up, run or help get-out, please let us know in advance. This will be charged to you at the current hourly rate.
We will always endeavour to pre-rig lighting prior to your arrival. This is not always possible, due to tight scheduling.
We can rig overnight if you require, but again this will incur charges. All hours after midnight are charged at double time, plus taxi fares home.
Our working day starts at 10.00 am and runs roughly as follows :-
10.00am - 1.00pm : get-in set, props, etc, build set, focus lighting
1.00pm - 2.00pm : lunch
2.00pm - 6.00pm : plot lighting and sound technical and dress rehearsals as required
6.00pm - 7.00pm : evening break
7.00pm - 8.00pm : final checks and resetting house ready to open for 7.45pm
8.00pm : show goes up without a hitch !
nb if your show begins at 7.30pm we will be available from 9.30am and adjust the evening break so that the house is ready to open for 7.15pm.
This schedule is by no means fixed. Breaks can be flexible to suit your requirements. However you must allow two breaks of one hour in the schedule for your get-in day. Any missed breaks will be charged at double the hourly rate.
Your technician will be available one hour before any subsequent performances, to check lighting / sound rig and be ready for curtain up. Earlier call times can be arranged in advance, but again will be subject to a charge.
Please remember your get-out must start immediately after your final performance. If there is any problem with getting your set out after your final performance please let us know well in advance. Storage of any set or props overnight is not normally possible. If we do have space in the programme to do this you will be charged a storage fee.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to call.
