Liverpool’s Unity Theatre is looking for a Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees with a passion for theatre.

Unity Theatre has a proud history of bringing radical theatre, powerful storytelling, and diverse programming dating back to the early twentieth century. This dedication to creating and showcasing outstanding work guides Unity in all that we do.

Unity’s identity has been proudly established across generations of amazing artists. This legacy of prioritising the work and careers of artists, at a time when they need it most, is crucial to how we move forward.

As we move into an exciting new chapter in 2025, we are seeking to appoint someone with a financial background to join the board of Trustees, in the role of  Treasurer.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities/experience:
– Knowledge and experience of current fundraising and
finance practice relevant to small charities
– Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management
– Good financial analysis skills
– Ability to communicate clearly

How to Apply

Unity welcomes applications from all members of the community with the ability to make effective contributions to the Board. You will bring strong insight and professional experience in your area of specialism, along with a willingness to share thoughts, challenge ideas and support the team at all levels of the organisation.
Previous experience of being a Trustee is not a requirement. A passion for the arts and their role within a community is essential.
This role is voluntary with a commitment to attend six Board meetings a year, plus relevant Committees, and regular performances and events.
Appointments are for an initial period of three years, with the option of standing for an additional three-year term.
