Saturday 17th September
Part of Up Next Weekender
Family Healing is a co-created dynamic and intimate new play from Brodie Arthur and Leah Watson-Lee, following the story of two siblings with conflicting views of their childhood.
A family counselling session is pending, and the tension is high. Join two sisters as they give their separate accounts of the same childhood. Did they have different lives or did the roles they played interfere with their ability to see clearly?
Touching on themes of trauma, family dynamics, healing and blame, join them on a journey filled with action, heartbreak and emotional tension.
About Brodie Arthur:
My name is Brodie Arthur and I am a writer, actor, activist and facilitator from Liverpool 8. I use my creative crafts to tackle subjects and issues in society that have directly affected me and those around me. I work mostly in my local community which I am proud to say is L8 and most of my community engagement is with young people. It’s important to me that I make work that is accessible to young people from my background and community and that we allow them to inform the work we create for their viewing.
