A new play by Lucy Burke
A female only young offenders institute in the north of England. Its inmates face their mundane daily routines and the challenges they invariably bring, negotiating life on the inside.
When Tucker, a young and hopeful workshop leader, enters the institute to trial a new rehabilitation initiative using drama and storytelling, the inmates, staff and even Tucker are forced to confront their demons, causing long suppressed tensions to bubble over and threaten everyone’s futures.
Lucy Burke’s (Glitter Punch) new play, commissioned for LIPA and directed by Will Hammond, is a story of hope and redemption that investigates justice, institutional abuse and power. All performances are being filmed by a mobile camera crew, but your view won’t be restricted.
Performed by third year Acting students.
