Introducing Polly – a show that brings a whole new meaning to ‘f**k around and find out’
Meet Polly – a non-binary lesbian who jumps head first into the world of polyamory, dragging their girlfriend along with them. A calamity of gender questioning and potato drinking ensues.
This new queer comedy will welcome you into the polyamorous community, where we’re breaking the mould of the heteronormative relationship structures that have been marketed to us as the ‘ideal’. But with a lack of planning, and a reluctant girlfriend, will Polly end up breaking the mould, or just breaking their relationship?
Marcella is a queer, neurodivergent scouse theatre maker. They use comedy writing as a means of navigating a world full of rules that make no sense to them. Their work currently focuses on queer and non traditional relationships. Exploring gender, identity and queer expression, Marcella writes plays which invite you to view the world through their eyes.
Marcella is a part of Homotopia’s QueerCore artist development programme, and the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse’s Playwrights Programme. They have previously created digital projects, and Introducing Polly is their first time sharing live work with an audience.
