Alice Mason – Algo Aggro
Baby cries. Baby sleeps. Check phone. Screen lights up. Scroll. Repeat. Modern motherhood is hard. Your phone is a solace at night when, finally, all is quiet. It answers every parental query you will ever have. But it also over-serves you content you have no interest in viewing. No matter how much you block or report, you’re unable to curate your feed the way you want to. Can you tame the algorithms to see #mumcontent that you want to watch or are you doomed to hit breaking point? Algo Aggro explores the relationship between technology and modern motherhood.
‘Unpacking’, Mariana Pires

“Unpacking” is a work in progress autobiographical piece about growing away from home and no longer fitting in upon return. Through movement, storytelling, and puppetry, it explores the strange, in between space of rediscovering belonging, embracing both the growing pains and joys of change and self discovery.

Rooted in Mariana’s journey from Portugal to Liverpool, Unpacking also weaves in her grandmother’s story of migration to France during the 1970s, fleeing poverty under Portugal’s dictatorship. By placing their stories side by side, the piece reflects on how migration transforms across generations—what shifts, what endures, and the evolving challenges faced by those who cross borders in search of something new.
