Friday 8th — Saturday 9th July
10am – 5pm
“We try very hard all the time to not appear idiotic, what would happen if we stopped trying?”
An invitation to let down defences that prevent people from laughing, it will lead participants through a series of exercises and provocations connecting body, voice, imagination and play. With the other participants, we explore what the relationship with an audience can be if listened to closely and openly.
The aim is to create a supportive atmosphere of play, which encourages participants to open up and share themselves fully with each other.
This workshop is for people interested in laughter, play and performance.
Jamie is an international art clown, teacher and director.
Tmesis Theatre & The Unity Theatre are offering two free places per workshop, to improve the diversity of participants in our workshops to currently under-represented artists. If you are a person with disabilities, from a low-socio-economic background or an ethnically diverse background, and would be interested in attending one of the workshops, please email a short expression of interest to email@example.com by 8th of May.
