Red Lite Radio - Unity Theatre

Red Lite Radio

Monday 1st August

Available on Unity Online for free from the 1st August 2022

Red Lite Radio have been programmed as part of the Unity Open Call: Creative Experience Project strand.

An interdisciplinary collaborative project aimed at giving artists from across Merseyside the opportunity to work together

Red Lite Radio delivers the opportunity for a diverse selection of artists to work together and establish new networks. It aims to make artists feel valued by not only paying them, but by promoting their work and their performances.

It also gives the artists professionally documented material that can be taken away and used in their portfolios for future opportunities.

We want to support a more accessible stream of content which we will achieve by advertising the project in a range of public spaces and by providing a diverse selection of creative practices for people to experience.

Red Lite Radio’s showcase will be available to watch on Unity Online from August.

About Dan:

Dan O’Dempsey studied his BA in Fine Art at DJCAD in Dundee. In 2018 he returned home to Liverpool where he began to rebuild his creative network. During 2019 Dan received the Residence in Scotland award from The Royal Scottish Academy where he spent two months exploring the Orkney Isles and its communities, producing a series of collaborative performances with his colleague, James Alexander Mckenzie and local musicians. During this time Dan became increasingly aware of the enriching benefits that collaborating was having on his own practice and which began to sow the seeds for his idea, ‘Red Lite Radio’.
