SPRING AWAKENING A NEW MUSICAL
Book and Lyrics by Steven Sater | Music by Duncan Sheik
Based on the Original Play by Frank Wedekind
Presented for LIPA by Luna Theatre Productions
Set to a contemporary rock soundtrack, Spring Awakening explores what it means to be young and curious about the world. The story looks at a group of German teenagers, as they discover their bodies, their minds, and themselves. Follow these teens as they revolt against the status quo, question sexuality and contemplate the pressure society puts on youth.
This thought provoking musical is a fusion of youth, rock and rebellion, holding a light to issues that are still relevant in today’s world
This amateur production is presented by permission of Josef Weinberger Limited on behalf of Music Theatre International of New York.
