Unity Scratch Night: September

Wednesday 25th September

7.30pm

Off the back of the roaring success of the Unity Variety Night Fundraiser, we are delighted to announce a brand-new monthly scratch night coming to Liverpool this Autumn.

At our Open House Session one of the biggest parts of feedback was that our community needed a place to come and test out new ideas, so we are delighted to be launching this new series for artists to come and experiment on the Unity stage.

Introducing a new series of mid-week scratch nights:

  • Wednesday 25th September
  • Wednesday 23rd October
  • Thursday 21st November

The Line Up

Carmen Arquelladas – ELVIRIA

In the deepest world of idiocy meet ELVIRIA, in this short comedy full of fangs, bangs and thangs.

Caustic Widows – The Surgeons

A new work from the surreal visual theatre artists, Caustic Widows. Using a mixture of physical comedy, object theatre and sound art, the piece explores what can happen on the operating table. Green wing meets David Lynch in a deliciously dark comic horror.

Legions of Doom

Liverpool’s favourite posse of alternative comedians, The LOD, run out a shower of freshly squeezed sketches, ahead of the return of their unhinged quarterly comic showcase… The Alternative.

Gemma Black – Head Down

A look at social class through the lense of childhood memory and how it informs our perspective into adulthood.

Hairy B*stard – Molly Farquhar

A snippet from a show about self love, self loathing, and how expensive razors are – HB explores the writer’s relationship with PCOS.

Tabby Thomas and Erin Martin – Celia’s

I only do karaoke on holiday! All bets are off when Tash and Anna arrive for a week in Mallorca. Their friendship is tested, as well as their karaoke skills…

Ruby Shrimpton – Disco at the End of the World

It’s the end of the world, Joan has found herself in an underground silent disco and there’s a dream going around.

Stephen Porter – Saint Vespaluus

Saint Vespaluus’s poetry takes a razor-sharp look at gender roles, and the uses and abuses of the English language, but he is always keen to drop in the odd homage to Gary Numan in his performances!
