Since the 1930s, Unity Theatre has been a vital part of Liverpool’s creative scene, known for championing bold, inclusive performance and supporting artists with powerful stories. Our mission is to connect curious audiences with innovative work, celebrate our diverse communities, and create opportunities for creativity to thrive.

 

We’re now looking to expand our pool of casual theatre technicians to help deliver exciting performances and events at Unity and beyond.

 

About the Role

As a Casual Theatre Technician, you’ll:

– Support the technical delivery of a wide range of performances, events, and hires at Unity Theatre.

– Work with our in-house technical team to ensure high-quality, safe production standards.

– Assist with and run get-ins, get-outs, rigging, focusing, plotting and operating lighting, sound, and AV equipment.

– Provide technical support to visiting artists, production teams, and commercial clients.

– Contribute to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for everyone using Unity’s spaces.

 

This is a casual, flexible role with shifts offered as needed, including evenings and weekends. Pay will be in line with Unity’s casual rates and experience.

 

Who We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from people with:

– Experience in technical theatre, live events, or similar settings

– Good knowledge of plotting on ETC Eos consoles

– Good knowledge of QLab programming

– Proficient in rigging and focusing lanterns

– Strong communication and collaboration skills.

– A commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards.

– A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.

– Pay: £13.71 per hour or national minimum wage (£12.21 per hour) depending on the role and experience
