Access - Unity Theatre

We aim to provide the best possible experience of our venue for all our customers. Please feel free to contact us prior to your visit to discuss any of the facilities and services on offer to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Our Building

Our building is located halfway down Hope Place, a quiet residential street between Hope Street and Pilgrim Street; there is a slight slope rising from Pilgrim Street.

The building can be accessed two ways:

  • Via automatic double doors located at street level. From this entrance there are five steps leading up to our main foyer, or an access lift that takes you directly to our Box Office

We have accessible toilets on all three levels of our building.

Watch from your home

From 2021 onwards Unity Online will become home to our theatre programme. Alongside brand-new, specially commissioned digital works for you to enjoy from your own home, for our 2021 season we are also committing to making nearly all of our in-venue programme available to watch online as well.

Online performances will be available at a Pay What You Can ticket price and will premiere one-month after the physical production.

You can find out more about the shows involved in our online programme by heading to our What’s On page and selecting Online from the drop down menu.

Wheelchair spaces

Wheelchair spaces are available in both our performance spaces. Please reserve when making your booking. Easily accessible seating can also be reserved for audience members who prefer to transfer from a wheelchair to a seat – get in touch with our Box Office team for details.

Carer Tickets

Free carer tickets are available on every production.

Guide dogs

Guide dogs and hearing dogs are always welcome. Please let the Box Office know when booking your ticket so that we can arrange an aisle seat or have someone at hand to take care of your dog. Some of our productions contain loud noises and startling lighting effects. If this is likely to upset your dog please ask for advice when booking your ticket.

Hearing Enhancement

We have a hearing loop system available for audience members who are hard of hearing – these can be made available for audience members with and without hearing aids. Speak to the box office for more information or email tickets@unitytheatre.co.uk
