RAVING IN THE TRAINING | Workshop with WilL Dickie

Join performance maker WilL Dickie as he shares his unique blend of practices cultivated over 20 years of working in live performance across dance, theatre and live art. Be expertly guided through exercises from his training in martial arts, feldenkrais & the suzuki method, before setting yourself free to explore your own movement style in group and solo improvisations inspired by butoh dance, club culture and WilL’s own choreographic style.
Suitable for actors, dancers, movers & makers of any experience level, looking to dive into themselves and play in a supportive, low steaks but high quality workshop environment.
WilL Dickie is an artist based in Liverpool. As a facilitator he has lead professional casts, learning disabled movers & arts students in his practice internationally. His training includes the martial art Kalaripayattu as taught by Director Phillip Zarrilli (US/UK), the Nobbs Suzuki Praxis, as taught by John Nobbs and Jacqui Carrol of OzFrank(AUS), and Butoh Dance, as taught by Tadashi Endo (JP/GER). As a director/choreographer his recent works include Go Call Ur Mother! (by Fabiola Santana) The Secret Garden (Regents Park Open Air Theatre) and Echo in the Dark (Hanna Tuulikki, Hospitalfields Scotland). His recent one man show White Sun has toured across the UK & to Australia. His dance film Canning Town, created with Fabiola Santana, toured internationally & won awards for best film in Romania, Scotland and Portugal. He is also a qualified feldenkrais practitioner.
