Told in three chapters, this is a journey through time, sound, architecture and filmmaking. Set in the streets of Recife — a city examined through the grand movie theatres, that once served as its spaces of community and imagination. Blending archive footage, clips from decades of Brazilian cinema, and personal memory, it maps a century of dreams, closures and transformation, and finds in the mostly-vanished movie palaces a way of reading the whole city’s history.
