Wolf and Dog (2022, fiction feature, 111 min)
Ana was born on São Miguel, an island in the middle of the Atlantic ruled by religion and tradition. Growing up the middle child of a small family, she learns early on that girls and boys are given different lives. Through her friendship with Luís, her queer best friend who loves dresses as much as pants, Ana starts to question the future that’s been promised to her. When her friend Cloé arrives from Canada, bringing the glow of another kind of youth with her, Ana sets out on a journey that will carry her beyond the horizon, into the island’s vibrant queer community and her own desire. Winner of Best Film, Giornate degli Autori (Venice Days), 2022.
Kora (2024, short documentary, 28 min)
Kora traces the outlines of refugee women now living in Portugal. Filmed in delicate black and white, it gathers their voices, gestures and the portraits of those they carry with them — memories through which we glimpse the intimate, political work of rebuilding a present. Best Portuguese Documentary and Best Short/Medium Length Film, MDOC Melgaço; world premiere, Venice Film Festival 2024.
