In a world increasingly defined by division, what if we dared to imagine something different? What if the stories we told — to ourselves and each other — became tools of transformation? What if the voices of our queer ancestors could light the way forward?
Having cut her teeth across the UK cabaret circuit developing a unique performance style that blends spectacle with deep vulnerability, these are the questions at the heart of Dross’ solo theatrical debut.
AN EVENING WITH DROSS is a radical act of queer dreaming: a kaleidoscopic patchwork of biography and fantasy, weaving together film, lip-sync, physical theatre and cultural memory into a powerful, genre-bending ritual. At its heart is Dross herself — a shape-shifting conduit of forgotten histories, fierce glamor, and emotional truth. Here, the Drag Queen becomes an oracle, a living archive, a guide through the wild contradictions of identity, grief, joy and resistance.
Suspended somewhere between heartbreak and high-camp, haunting and homecoming – Dross invites you to feel, again. Audiences have called it a ‘masterclass in the art of lip-sync’, a ‘queer séance’, an ‘intelligent and timely reflection on LGBTQ+ identity and community’ & ‘beautiful, smart and hilarious in waves.’
AN EVENING WITH DROSS was developed with the kind support of FACT, Bidston Artistic Research Centre & Homotopia QueerCore. Dross is a queer performance maker & art-activist, living and working in the Liverpool City Region. She is interested in horror, beauty, magic & liberation.
