Together, Apart: Workshop

We are delighted to announce Together, Apart – a unique collaboration between Grapevine Theatre CIC (Liverpool) and The Freedom Theatre (Jenin, Palestine).

In this joint workshop, we will explore two powerful texts: George Orwell’s Animal Farm and the Palestinian play The Little Lantern by Ghassan Kanafani, first staged in Jenin by Juliano Mer Khamis. By reading and working with these texts side by side, artists in Liverpool and Jenin will come together in a creative act of dialogue and solidarity, using theatre as a vessel to connect across borders.

Participants in both cities will collaborate simultaneously – in person and online – sharing not only the plays but also their voices, imaginations, and reflections.

This workshop is more than an artistic exercise: it is a meeting point between two communities, an experiment in collective storytelling, and an invitation to stand in solidarity through the language of theatre.
