Unique and affordable spaces in the heart of Liverpool’s Georgian quarter. Our venue is located right in the middle of a striking Georgian terrace, just off Liverpool’s bustling Hope Street. We are 10 minutes’ walk from Lime Street and Central train stations and on the city’s major bus routes.

Originally built as a synagogue in the 1850s, Unity now houses two state of the art performance spaces and a light-filled bar area whilst maintaining some of its original architectural flourishes. We are a popular host of celebrations, talks and screenings as well as meetings and conferences.

As a registered charity, all income from our building hires goes back into our work with the communities of Merseyside, ensuring their voices are seen and heard on our stages.

Unity One | Capacity – 140 Seated

(expandable to 172 at an extra cost)

Our main performance space on the ground floor is a large traditional black box studio with access to two dressing rooms. It has full sound and lighting facilities as well as a projector and screen. Its intimate dimensions make it perfect for conferences, talks, film screenings and performances.

This space is on our ground floor and is fully wheelchair accessible with 4 wheelchairs spaces. A hearing loop system is available for those with a hearing impairment.

Hire of this space includes a standard lighting rig, microphone and pa, as well as an in-house technician and core front of house team for public events. Bespoke technical support is available on request (additional costs apply). Unfortunately we’re unable to offer Box Office and promotional services as part of our private hire offer.

*please note the seating in this space is raked and non-retractable. As such this space cannot accommodate standing only events.

 

Unity Two | Capacity – 88 seated

(100 Standing)

With retractable seating, our most versatile space regularly hosts rehearsals, workshops, photoshoots and away days. With full sound and lighting facilities, our technical team can transform the space into whatever you need it to be.

Hire of this space includes a standard lighting rig, microphone and pa, as well as an in-house technician and core front of house team for public events. Bespoke technical support is available on request (additional costs apply). Unfortunately we’re unable to offer Box Office and promotional services as part of our private hire offer.

Located on our second floor, Unity Two is accessible via our lift and has a flexible number of wheelchair spaces depending on seating layout. A hearing loop system is available for those with a hearing impairment. This space has access to two dressing rooms and a small kitchenette with microwave

 

The Bar | Capacity – 25 seated

(50 Standing)

With floor to ceiling windows, our fully-licensed light and airy bar space is perfect for intimate gatherings, play readings, meetings and workshops. A microphone and pa system can be made available for small sharings and presentations.

Depending on the nature of your event this space can be offered on a minimum-spend basis on select evenings and weekends for your guests to take advantage of our curated menu of locally sourced beer, wine and soft drinks.

Performances and public events

Our two main spaces are equipped with state of the art sound and lighting equipment alongside a projector and screening facilities, making them perfect for range of performances, lectures, rehearsals and public events. The intimate and versatile nature of our spaces means that they are regularly hired out by community groups, schools and students to stage productions. An in-house technician and a core front of house team to support you every step of the way in making your production a success.

MEETINGS AND AWAY DAYS

We have rooms of various sizes available for all types of working environments, be it our light and airy bar space to our adaptable black box studios. We have WIFI throughout the building and can supply tables, chairs and AV equipment, as well as a range of catering options available through our partner suppliers

PARTIES AND CELEBRATIONS

Unity’s versatile spaces make them perfect for all types of celebration – small get-togethers, sit down dinners, proper knees up parties – we’ve hosted them all. Make our spaces your own with the help of our friendly and experienced team, and work with our select group of local suppliers to curate a menu to help you celebrate.

Locally sourced produce also features on our drinks menu including beers from Merseyside breweries Liverpool Organic and Love Lane alongside organic wines from independent wine merchants, R&H.
