Are you a senior fundraising professional who understands the power of creativity and art to bring people and communities together?

This is a unique opportunity to become Unity Theatre’s next Executive Director. Working in a prominent national cultural organisation to inspire creative risk, provide space and opportunity to celebrate Liverpool’s communities, and in doing so achieve a fairer and more accessible world.

What’s extra special about this job?

With opportunity to work directly with the CEO and Board, you’ll shape and influence strategy around people, culture and income generation. This role offers a rare opportunity for a senior fundraiser or fundraising leader to step into their first executive level position, operating at decision-making level in a stimulating and creative environment.

About the role:

There’s huge variety with opportunity to shape, influence and lead across the organisation, and we think that makes it incredibly exciting.

Firstly, you’ll take the lead on income generation strategy and delivery, maximising funding opportunities by:

Building and delivering a sustainable pipeline of trusts and grants, managing relationships with key funders and external funding consultant, and coaching a team member responsible for sponsorship and donations.

With overarching responsibility for people strategy, you’ll promote an organisational culture that values inclusivity, autonomy, recognition and self-belief.

Policy, procedure, governance, risk management and financial reporting are all included in the role profile, most of which is done via management of external relationships with outsourced finance, legal and HR support.

We are absolutely not expecting you to arrive as an expert in everything, but we’d love you to be open to learning and growing with the role, and eager to gain new skills and experience.

Applications are being taken through Charity People. You will need to send a copy of your CV to Amelia Lee at Charity People for more information on how to apply.

Deadline: 9am on Wednesday 27th July

Interview: Wednesday 3rd August, ideally in person in Liverpool
