Introduction

In May 2021, ahead of our public reopening, we welcomed some of the Liverpool-based artists featured in our programme back to Unity. Over two days, we had the pleasure of hearing more about their projects with Unity and their future plans. We also took the opportunity to document their involvement through a photoshoot.

The artists featured in this new portrait collection reflect the creativity, character and talent of both the city and it’s people. These artists are distinct in what they offer, both through the work they create and the ideas they communicate. As we collectively continue to navigate the impacts of a pandemic that left some in the creative industries without adequate support, together we will continue to push forward, creating a future that is fair, accessible, representative and supportive of artists, audiences and communities alike. We are in awe, not only of the work being produced by Liverpool’s creatives, but by the way in which they have conducted themselves through this past year. It is a true privilege having them be part of our 2021 programme.

About Mina Bihi: Photographer

The images featured in this online exhibition were created by Liverpool-based photographer Mina Bihi. It was a true pleasure working with a talent like Mina on this special project. We thank Mina for the love that has been poured into these images and how comfortable she made everybody feel on the shoot.
